The 2CV (deux chevaux, French for two horses) was a simple passenger car from Citroën that was sold from 1948-1990, when production was stopped due to new, restrictive requirements for catalytic converters and exhaust gases. The model is known for its distinctive shape and simplicity, but also for its severely limited engine power. The top model had 29 horsepower and a top speed of 115 km/h. A super simple car that André Citroën originally wanted to make for the French farmer as a replacement for the horse-drawn carriage. During the development period, it went by the name TPV (Toute Petite Voiture). Unfortunately, André Citroën did not live to see the introduction of the 2CV. He died in 1935 and the factory was taken over by Michelin. The 2CV project was completed with the mission: an economical car for the French farmer, possibly with room for one passenger and some goods to be transported to and from his field, but also to church, which is why there had to be enough height in the car to carry a hat. The nicknames for the quirky little car were plentiful: Duck, rocking horse, squeezed lemon, student jaguar, Christiania-Jeep and a French sardine can. An icon of its time. This cute model is bright yellow with a black hood. So if your 2CV dreams and nostalgia are intact, this sweet ride will fit right in with you.
